Jelly Tobing, Indonesia's Legendary Drummer and Sensational

In the music industry and concert in Indonesia, especially rock music, the name Jelly Tobing can be called legendary. Jelly is the drummer of many sensations. So Jelly Tobing is Indonesia's legendary drummer and sensational. Action of the drum solo on every concert into a spectacle that captivated many musicians, including me. He once hit a record playing the drums without stopping for 8 hours accompanied various bands with different streams in 1989. Then he broke his own record by 10 hours of nonstop playing drums in 1991 at the Menteng Stadium, Jakarta. Utje Anwar, his wife, faithfully accompanied the two event. This woman is the last port of romance Jelly Tobing mating several times through a divorce.

In the stage show at the Gelora 10 November Stadium, Surabaya, East Java, Jelly exposed electrical strom and critically injured his right hand. But a year later Jelly has appeared again in a variety of performances. He at least has played in 30 bands. With the band that much Jelly is not just sitting behind a set of drums, singing and playing guitar as well done. Although in the end he is more famous as the drummer. The man who was born October 20, 1950 in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia is already pioneering a musical career since 1960. It is the most popular bands Superkid with Deddy Dores and Deddy Stanzah. Then in a Bharata band with  Abadi Soesman and Tato's Brothers.

Talk about Rock Drummer in Indonesia there are only two, that Teddy Sujaya, former drummer for the Bentoel and Godbless bands, and the second is the Jelly Tobing ! Moreover, among the dozens who claim the band's drummer rock, no one can really match the two senior drummers.

According to Jelly, it takes a long time to establish a name to''something'' in a field. All it takes to survive in the music industry not only skill, but also flexibility in maneuvering the industry itself, he said further. The task is not just grab someone and stick his name, but also foster and maintain it to keep it sweet, even in old age.

Jelly also managed to reduce the talent to play his drums to his son Ikmal Tobing which is now famous in the world of Indonesian music, he plays with Akhmad Dani in The Rock band. Jelly told about her son, when Ikmal intention of becoming a drummer, he's just a message to Ikmal, you must master the three songs that rock Rock and Roll-Led Zeppelin, Highway Star-Deep Purple and Tom Sawyer-Rush. GIGI, Indonesian Band with Its Own Characteristics

GIGI is a band with a personnel consisting Armand Maulana (vocalist), Dewa Budjana (guitarist), Budhi Haryono (drummer) and Thomas Ramdhan (basist). The interesting thing for me is they do not wear two guitars and did not use the keyboard. This is the formation of a band that not many in Indonesia. With the genre of pop rock music, the band gives a different feel than most bands Indonesia. In the arrangement of songs, wailing guitars and a variety of classical excerpts Budjana gives a distinctive sound and color. Besides their stage act at concerts unsightly and very interesting, especially Armand Maulana as the vocalist.  I love music and style of their band. They are one of my idol band. GIGI, Indonesian band with its own characteristics.

1998, is a proof of achievement for GIGI. The concept of music that could change due to adjustments to the new personnel, again like the original character. Move to the record company Sony Music Indonesia is the right choice. June 19, 1998, after a show in Malaysia, the album "Flashback" was thrown to the market. Unexpected results, with good cooperation between the Management and Sony Music Indonesia GIGI packed album promotion, sales levels as of the tape sells. Not only in Jakarta or in Java, on the other islands GIGI record sales became a best seller for several weeks. While the hits songs "Fly" sitting on the steps of the best songs on the radio Indonesia no less than 9 weeks, not to mention other songs like "Where You Are" and "Longing for Peace". Cassette and CD sales reached 300,000.

Other achievements in 1998 are very encouraging as the Anugerah of Music Indonesia (AMI), GIGI steal some categories such as Best Group, Best Singer, Best Song and Best Nomination Cassette Cover. While the print media GIGI selected as the best pop rock group in 1998 and the group's most shining 1998. The most encouraging for the GIGI in Indonesia economic conditions are severe at the time, the target management to achieve the 48 shows in one year was exceeded at the end of 1998.

GIGI release three albums namely For All Age (2001), The Best of  (2002), and Hail the Eighth (2003). In 2004, GIGI again haunted by the trauma of 'removable' personnel. In the cultivation of the album Original Sound Track (OST) Brownies, drummer Budhy Haryono because one thing can not actively participate in the recording studio. Because this album should be completed soon will release the film in line with the Brownies, for reference Budhy and other personnel agreements, was chosen as an additional player Hendy replace Budhy Haryono. Experience a Fun Concert in Score, Ciwalk, Bandung

It took three hours to drive from Jakarta to Bandung (West Java, Indonesia), then go to the area's famous fashion sales Ciampelas before it turns into Ciwalk area, and entry to the Score building, live music venues that we were headed for a concert on October 7, 2011 that have been passed. This building has a maximum capacity of two hundred people, a broad band stage and sound system with great power. Then the support of good lighting make this a good music concert venue. This is an Experience a fun Concert in Score, Ciwalk, Bandung.

I'm with the band with the formation of yet another, I am still in the drum chair, Abu as a vocalist, Kiki and Iwan on guitar, Jahri on bass, and Boy on the keyboard. We play with the genre of rock and roll. We played 15 songs of rock legends. Welcome and applause the audience very well, many of the audience danced and sang with us. It's a very pleasant thing.

This formation is doing a good preparation and practice before. We played with up to a good cooperation on the stage. Especially the bass player, I feel safe playing the drums and feel satisfied at the appearance of it. In the evaluation after the play, my friends are also satisfied. Successful appearance in Bandung. It certainly adds to our experience in the world of concert music.

I would like to thank the public Bandung music lovers rock and roll, to Denors and Bryan Rock band from Bandung, also to musician friends who came specially from Jakarta to watch us and contribute a few songs, they were Ronald, Pache, Ferdi. Then of course to Reza as host, Selvy,  and Tanti as the event organizer. My band, the team that is always changing

I like Rock and Roll, Blues and Hard Rock, I was very influenced by the rhythm of the music, this is my music genres. (This is my link to see videos of my favorite live music). There is a certain satisfaction to play drums in this genre. Because of that I can play drums until now, never bored. During the school at a university in Yogyakarta, Central Java, I had a band with a fixed formation, of course with rock and roll genre. We learned a lot about how to maintain the integrity of the band and learn to communicate with many people in the crowd in front of the stage at the concert. This lesson is very good. But after graduation, we were separated because of work on private companies in other cities.

Although work remains as an employee in Jakarta, I am still playing the band. My friend gave me a job as a drummer to replace those players who happen to not be ready. I often find work in bands with different formations. So My Band is a Team That Is Always Changing.

I do not have a solid band because it is always changing with a new team. but I maintain this way because I need the money. With the free position, it gives way for me to get extra income more frequently.

I take lessons, I know many musicians of different characters, I got a lot of new science on song arrangements and improvisation, and I add new friends and communities. I hope to provide ideas or new shades as well for them. Perhaps the deeper part is that we would give each other.

Tommy Lee, an Attractive Drummer

Tommy Lee, first and foremost, is a musician. From the home studio platinum records, Lee is the face of celebrity rocker, which is why its activities attract attention. I really like to see him at concerts, he always attractive in the stage action and for setting drum kit on stage, very pretty sight. This becomes a very strong character as a musician of the world. It invites the interest of many people to see. Tommy Lee, he is an attractive drummer . I chose him as drummer idol.

Tommy Lee was born on October 3, in Athens, Greece, son of David Oliver Bass, U.S. Army reparations Welsh descent and Vassiliki Papadimitriou, a former Miss Greece. His family moved to West Covina, California a year after his birth. Although born in Greece, Tommy grew up in California. He received the first drum when he was four years old and a first drum kit when he was a teenager. Lee has one younger sister, Athena Lee, who was married to James Kottak, Scorpions band's drummer and he was also the drummer from his band KrunK solo. As a teenager he listened to Queen, Kiss, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Judas Priest. After listening to Kiss, the influence of the main drum to be Peter Criss.

His first successful band Suite 19 played the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles during the '70s. At that time he met future bandmate, Nikki Sixx. Sixx was forming a theatrical band that would specialize in anthemic heavy metal, and was impressed by Lee's drumming. At that time, he changed his name to Tommy Lee and earned the nickname "T-bone" for 6 persons' 2 ½ "tall and skinny physical. Not long afterwards, guitarist Mick Mars joined the band. Mars recommended a singer Tommy met while at school high, Vince Neil, who soon joined the group, and Mötley Crüe was formed.

It was while playing in his band Suite 19, that young Tommy met Nikki Sixx and Mötley Crüe continue to form. Mick Mars and Vince Neil completed the line-up and the band are quick to release their debut album. After signing to Elektra Records that the band found huge success with albums such as 'Girls, Girls, Girls'.

In addition to being a true showman on the drums, Tommy became a favorite because of the tabloids for his marriage to Heather Locklear's first and then Baywatch star, Pamela Anderson. It is during this time that the famous scandal 'sex-tape' pair rocketed to worldwide fame. Tommy's Wedding also bought time in jail after allegedly hitting Lee Anderson.

After a tour of the Greatest Hits Mötley Crüe in 1999, Tommy left the band and formed The method Mayhem, issuing a self-titled album that same year and toured with it. He joined Mötley Crüe again in 2001 to take part in a tell-all autobiography, 'Dirt' and in 2005 the band set off a giant reunion tour - Tour, Red White & Crüe and released the album.

When he's not with Mötley Crüe, Tommy make a living by guesting on albums of other artists, like Nine Inch Nails. While his solo album, 'Never Dull Moment', displayed more toward rap metal he returned to the fold in 2005 with a self-written books and albums - 'Tommyland'.

This is my music live event in early October 2011, which was held in the flower city Bandung. COLDPLAY, Very Impressive Band

Coldplay is a British alternative rock band, formed in London, United Kingdom in 1997. The band comprises Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion. They having successful albums, especially Viva La Vida. They have just released a new single entitled 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall'. Chris Martin admitted that the song was inspired by his latest creation of Peter Allen's song in 1970 entitled 'I Go To Rio'. I chose Coldplay in the first post as my idol band.

I think Chris Martin is very special. I really likes him in live concert, I like the style of his stageacts. He was also very impressive when playing the piano while other music waiting to enter, this piece is my favorite in every appearance. Coldplay, very impressive band. They have so many fans, who will meet at the stadium during the concert band. Their overall appearance during the band concert was very good and uplifting. They became my idol.

About Me and My Music Background

I live in Jakarta, Indonesia. I am someone who likes the music world. Playing music is my hobby since childhood. Alternated in holding the instrument does not mean I'm greedy, but it happened I've had a full band tool and I tried all .. maybe it's the process of finding the most suitable instrument with my soul. First hold the guitar, switching to Keyboard. After I was able to play a musical band, I formed a band and played for an amateur event in schools. Then developed in the world of professional live music in Indonesia.
